The New Zealand natural skincare scene is simply getting better and better. Girl Undiscovered 100% Wild Skincare is the newest kid on our thriving Kiwi block and we’re so excited they’re here!
It’s an elegant, empowering, and genuinely daring skincare brand that’s giving back to the same global communities that inspire it. Here’s a little more on our new skincare obsession…
Girl Undiscovered 100% Wild Skincare is an Auckland-based enterprise founded by a dynamic trio of women. Sara Orme, Charlotte Devereux and Philly Gebbe came together with different backgrounds and a collective passion for real, natural beauty. The decision to join forces immediately fostered a creative experience with “an amazing, natural energy to it” for the three, innovative creators. Girl Undiscovered is “an extension” of the group and their most important values; natural beauty, global community and the freedom of women.
So far, the range consists of three principal skin products; Girl Undiscovered Stars Align Elixir (a hydrating face oil), Girl Undiscovered Stumbled Across Paradise Face Mask, and Girl Undiscovered Under the Waterfall Cleansing Water. All three are packed full of natural ingredients that can be sourced right back to their origin. They’re also all cruelty, pesticide and synthetic chemical free, which we absolutely adore.
The brand strives for Organic Certification as much as possible, but aren’t willing to compromise pure, natural ingredients for the sake of corporate paperwork. That’s why ‘100% Wild’ is such an important and unique idea. ‘100% Wild’ means the brand works sustainably with families and farmers, producing ingredients that are primarily wild. Co-founder Philly Gebbe lived in the tropics for 33 years and inspired the brand to travel far and wide when for its organic ingredients. Because their relationship with producers is personal, it means 100% of Girl Uncovered’s ingredients are traceable and transparent. This is no mean feat, it meaning the team involve themselves with every single step of the production process. There’s just no room for poor ethical practice or sub-par ingredients here!
Girl Undiscovered 100% Wild Skincare applies a feminist approach the whole way down its production chain. A third of Burmese households (where the brand sources their magic ingredient Thanaka 8 from) have no men and therefore a decreased earning capacity. By supporting these kinds of businesses through fair trade, Girl Undiscovered plays a part in providing financial freedom for the women at the head of these households.
It’s no secret that brilliant skincare demands equally brilliant ingredients, and in this area Girl Undiscovered 100% Wild Skincare shines. An expertly crafted combination of exotic and local natural ingredients create a unique blend of nourishment for the skin.
This is an ingredient co-founder Charlotte Devereux read about time and time again researching natural cures for problem skin. It’s a superfood for the skin leaving it radiant, renewed and positively glowing with health.
As well as beneficial fatty acids, Balinese Coconut Oil also retains a surprising level of Vitamin E. Its a vitamin that helps neutralise free radicals and is also an effective, potent antioxidant.
This honey is produced right here in New Zealand (a short ferry ride from Girl Undiscovered HQ) and is packed full of goodness. Also full of antioxidants, this particular type of honey soothes and hydrates the skin while it heals.
So, go check out the Girl Undiscovered range. The new, all natural, 100% wild skincare brand created for the girl that wants to make the world a little more beautiful, and a lot more thoughtful.
